Rosary Rally June 5 at St. John Cathedral

Enter the Holy Door in prayer for the United States

It is a rally of a different sort, a first-ever “Rosary Rally” for the United States of America, scheduled at 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at St. John Cathedral in downtown Cleveland.

All faithful of the Diocese of Cleveland are invited to join in prayer for our country.

During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, enter through the indulgenced Holy Door and help reach the goal of filling the cathedral.

The rally is sponsored by Tilma, Our Lady’s store in Berea, as it celebrates 20 years of service.  The nonprofit, all-volunteer store is located on Front Street.  Owner Jan Marie Shannon turned her devotion to the Blessed Mother into a special mission at Tilma.  The name is derived from the cloak worn by St. Juan Diego on which Our Lady of Guadalupe left her image after she appeared to him in 1531 in Mexico.  Shannon says the store is consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Shannon recently told Northeast Ohio Catholic, the diocesan magazine, that Tilma is a simple operation.  “We’re ordinary servants of our Blessed Lady and we are only doing our duty as Catholics.  We’re all in this together to promote our Catholic faith.”

She is encouraging everyone to bring their rosaries and join the rally on June 5.
